Ministerial Advisory Board on Employment
The Ministerial Advisory Board on Employment and Skills in Australia has been established to provide specialized and strategic information to the Minister regarding skills, training, and to support the JSA Commissioner in performing JSA functions and developing the annual work plan.
The advisory board will ensure the involvement of stakeholders and leaders with knowledge of key labor groups, to assist the nation in planning for current and future skill requirements, labor markets, and workforce needs. Announcement of the Core Skills Occupation List (Draft)
Jobs and Skills Australia (JSA) has initiated broad consultations on the CORE SKILLS OCCUPATION LIST (CSOL). The draft list is based on labor market analysis for occupations at levels 1-3 of the ANZSCO 2022. Consequently, this list includes updated occupations and utilizes the latest labor market and employment data.
The CSOL will replace the current Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL) and the Short-term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL).
The JSA website currently publishes three lists:
- Occupations JSA is confident will be on the new Core Skills list: This is the list of occupations that JSA is certain will be included in the CSL.
- Occupations JSA is confident will not be on the Core Skills list: This is the list of occupations that JSA is certain will not be included in the CSL.
- Occupations for further targeted consultation: This is the list of occupations under consideration and review.
JSA notes that this is a draft list and the consultation period will conclude on May 10, 2024.
